
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Internet stocks were broadly higher in early trading Thursday, with Yahoo Inc. and eBay Inc. rising as much as 2% and Google Inc. slightly higher after the search market leader won a courtroom victory in a patent dispute over its Google Earth mapping service.
Google said late Wednesday a U.S. district judge in Massachusetts ruled that its
three-dimensional mapping technology doesn't infringe patents held by Skyline Software Systems Inc., which filed suit in 2004 seeking unspecified damages.
